The company celebrated their first season with Pinocchio!, based on the book by Carlo Collodi. The show premiered at the Zenith Theatre 2018 before touring South Coast NSW. Their second production, Hansel and Gretel, premiered in 2021 at The Concourse. The company have since given four petite performances at the Sydney Opera House in recent years. Recently the company worked with Aija Draguns', commissioning and premiering her children's opera, Max and Moritz. Production History:
George Musgrove (1854-1916) is a relatively unknown figure in the operatic world today, and yet he contributed so much to the foundation of the arts in Australia. With all the international success he enjoyed, he never seemed to forget his homeland, touring regional Australia relentlessly. There was a time when the name Musgrove was synonymous with entertainment in Australia. In the early years of the 20th century there were no less than eight Musgroves in the entertainment business; now there are none. - Live Performance Australia Hall of Fame |
